Overview

Approximately 98 percent of U.S. pistachios are produced in California. Other states raising pistachios include Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Utah.

The U.S. pistachio crop in 2010 was valued at $1.2 billion, 95 percent more than the previous year. The crop was a record breaker; pistachio production increased to 522 million pounds.
