USDA Announces 2013 Recipients of Rural Business Enterprise Grants

USDA kicked off National Small Business Week by announcing the selection of recipients for USDA’s Rural Business Enterprise Grants (RBEGs).

A total of 54 recipients in 21 states received RBEG awards totaling $4.7 million in investment for rural small businesses.

Many of this year's projects relate to local food and agriculture, including food hubs and farm-to-school and organic food enterprises.

The funding will be used for feasibility studies, improved web marketing, tourism outreach and new facilities.
