Finding producers of those products has been fairly difficult - but Craig Tordsen - Iowa State University Extension Value Added Ag Program Manager - says there is now a tool to help people find those locally produced products.
Tordsen says MarketMaker is a free, user-friendly website with nearly 600-thousand profiles of buyers and sellers of locally grown food in 20 states…tape

The Agricultural Marketing Resource Center is a great tool for people wanting to start a value-added ag business - Tordsen says. Producers are great at producing - but Tordsen says they have trouble marketing. He says MarketMaker is the link to the Marketing Resource Center that businesses need in order to find potential buyers.
To access the MarketMaker website - Tordsen says people can go to the Agricultural Marketing Resource Center’s website - www dot agmrc dot org (www.agmrc.org) - and click on the Food Industry Market Maker tab at the top of the homepage. From there - it’s as easy as clicking on a state to find products…tape
