The Land Connection will host two separate upcoming workshops located at Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery in Champaign, Illinois. The Land Connection is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the farmland, training sustainable and organic farmers, and promoting a vibrant local food system.
Farm Labor Management for Specialty Crop Growers Workshop
The first workshop will gather farmers and other professionals together to discuss and share resources on farm labor management for specialty crop growers on February 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The day-long workshop will address the concerns that many specialty crop growers face when establishing management plans for their employees, and will attempt to answer questions on retention, delegation, wages, and labor law. Attendees will participate in presentations, facilitated discussion, and group work that will provide resources and allow growers to share their struggles and successes.
The cost of the workshop is $50, which includes lunch and materials. Registration closes February 11. Space is limited and advanced registration is required. You can register on The Land Connection’s website or by calling 217-840-2128.
