The governor of the state of California intends to reduce greenhouse gases by cutting down petroleum use by 50% by 2030. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has established a path toward meeting this goal by at least doubling use of alternative fuels like ethanol/biodiesel, electricity, natural gas, and hydrogen. In this issue we offer the first in a series to bring more insights and analysis on the current Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) adopted in California.
